
Simon Fry leads the team. He, his wife Anna and their four children joined ChristChurch from Kings Community Church Southampton in 2015. Si is passionate about stirring the local church to play its part in fulfilling the great commission both locally and the ends of the earth. In 2008, Si set up a charity that works to train and support indigenous leaders throughout East Africa to share the gospel and the church works closely with this charity (Life Bridging Works).

Chris Joyes is a born and bred Hailsham-ite and was prayed into Eldership in September 2018. He works for the church part-time as our Worship Pastor, as well as part-time as a carpenter. Chris is married to Jenni and they have two daughters and twin boys.

Rob Williams joined the team in 2020. He works part-time for the church overseeing prayer and media, whilst working part-time as a teacher in a local primary school. Rob and his wife Georgie both grew up in East Sussex but spent many years in West London, as members of Crown Church, Hillingdon. They and their two children returned to Sussex and joined ChristChurch in 2015.

Joel Cottingham has been in ChristChurch since he was 5 years old! He has previously served as Youth Worker, and currently works as Deputy Manager of Hailsham Youth Services. He is married to Beth and has five children. He is passionate about seeing God impact individuals through the church by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Owen Mudford arrived in Hailsham in 2017 whilst completing his degree in theology. He is married to Catherine and they have one child, Elijah. He is a secondary school teacher when not serving in the church and is passionate about teaching in all contexts, especially in unpacking the word of God.
The Elders are supported by a wider group of leaders within the church who are responsible for key areas of church life.












We also have a great pastoral team who assist the Elders and Life Group Leaders with pastoral support of the church. They are available on a Sunday to pray with people, as well as offering ongoing pastoral support. The pastoral team is made up of Si & Anna Fry, Andy & Brenda Joyes, Eloise Reah, Jenni Joyes, Ken Matthews, Nigel & Pam Unwin, Margaret Tye, Owen Mudford, Georgie Williams, Rosie Gersbach-Wood, Sandra Coltman and Denis O’Sullivan.

Eloise Reah has been working as our Children’s Worker since 2016 and she is also the Safeguarding Lead for the church. She is married to Phil and they have two children. She loves reading, cooking and walks that lead to great cafes!

Vicky is the Church Administrator. She has lived in Hailsham for over 30 years and is married to Duncan. She has 4 grandchildren and in her spare time loves to garden and read.

Rod Tice is the Church Finance Officer. He has 4 grown up children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Although once a keen sportsman he now enjoys a more leisurely way of life, and, when not keeping the church’s books in order, enjoys being retired, watching quiz programmes, and reading.

Katie joined our staff team in 2024 as our Community Money Advice Administrator. Her role places her in the Hailsham Foodbank office where she and a team of volunteers offer free debt advice and support. Katie has lived in Hailsham and been part of ChristChurch for many years. She is married to Dan, and they have two children and two cats!

Rowan is the youth worker here at Christchurch. He is originally from King’s Church Lewes but has recently moved to Hailsham. In his spare time he enjoys watching Brighton and Hove Albion ( most of the time..) and is very passionate about seeing young people getting to know who God is.
The Legal and Financial aspects of Church life come under the auspices of the Trustees. The Church is a Charitable Company limited by guarantee (Hailsham Frontiers Charitable Trust Charity Number 1118740 & Company Number 6033909).
