I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
As a church, we continue to adhere to government guidelines regarding places of worship and are working hard to ensure that we remain open in a way that is as safe as possible. We are still holding weekly church meetings each Sunday, at 9:30am and 11am (repeat services). You will need to book in advance for NHS Track and Trace and bookings close the Thursday before each Sunday. Please book here.
Meetings will be shorter than usual lasting up to one hour. We will not be having any corporate sung worship or refreshments after the service for the time being. However we are pleased to announce that from 18th April we will be offering children’s work for under 5’s which will be manned by DBS checked staff and volunteers.
Don’t worry if you would prefer not to attend just yet, or are not safely able to do so, we will be live streaming our 11am meeting each week and would love you to join us on our YouTube channel.
Below is some key information you will need to know. Please do take the time to read this information and familiarise yourself with the guidelines.
In line with government guidelines please ensure you do not mix with those outside of your household inside the building. Outside you may gather as a group of 6, or as 2 households, but please do not mix in multiple groups within this.
When you arrive at church please ensure you maintain social distancing of 2 metres from another household. If you can please arrive between 10 and 5 minutes before the service it will allow everyone to arrive safely and find their seats in good time before we begin the meeting. There is a one-way system in place in the building which is clearly marked out when you arrive.
Alcohol hand gel stations are located at the entrance and around the building, please do use the gel when you arrive and leave. The toilets will be open for those that require them, however as the services are short we encourage you to go before you leave home, which will make our cleaning team’s jobs a lot easier!
In line with government guidelines, masks will be required during the building. Unless you are exempt from wearing a mask please ensure you wear your mask at all times in the building. Don’t worry, we will have spare masks at hand should you forget yours!
Please also make sure you are following general government advice, this includes not attending if you have been in contact with anyone with Coronavirus, or if you are displaying any of the main symptoms (persistent cough, fever or shortness of breath. Government guidelines can be found here.
Children and Youth
Don’t worry about the noise your children might make, it is part of the joy of being together again! We are not yet offering formal groups for older children or youth, but we do have fantastic packs available each week for those children in our Generators group (Primary school children) and the back room (Polegate Room) is available each week with an audio feed for feeding Mums or if you wish to settle younger babies.
We are really pleased that from 18th April we will be able to offer a group for children under 5 which will run during the preach on Sunday mornings. The group will be open at both services, and parents can drop their children off with our DBS checked helpers and collect them after the service has ended. There will be a chance for the children to play together and enjoy a story-time. Children must be booked in via Eventbrite when you book to come to the service. Unfortunately we are not offering drinks/snacks at this time, but the children will only be out for a short while. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or medical issues. Toys and surfaces will be cleaned between the sessions, but we cannot promise a germ-free environment! Please do not bring your child if they are unwell or have tested positive for covid 19. Please remember that if someone who has attended the group tests positive, your child may have to isolate. We are very pleased to be reopening the group and hope it will be a real blessing to parents. We will open groups for other age-groups in the future as the regulations change.
We will be breaking bread each week within our Sunday meetings. To ensure this is done as safely as possible we ask each household to bring along their own bread and wine/juice with them and to please take their rubbish home with them after the meeting.
Please can we encourage people to continue to give by cashless options such as bank transfer. If you are not able to and do wish to give by cash or cheque then this can be done at the end of the service. An offering box will be placed at the exit to the building and you can pop your money or cheque into it on the way out.
If you have any questions or concerns then please do email the office and we will be happy to answer them! You can contact us at email@example.com
