COVID-19 Guidance

Updated: 17th January 2021

I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Psalm 122:1

As a church, we continue to adhere to government guidelines regarding places of worship and are working hard to ensure that we remain open in a way that is as safe as possible. We are still holding a weekly church meeting each Sunday from 9:30am. You will need to book in advance for NHS Track and Trace and bookings close the Thursday before each Sunday. Please book here.

Meetings will be shorter than usual lasting up to one hour. We will not be having any corporate sung worship or refreshments after the service for the time being.

Don’t worry if you would prefer not to attend just yet, or are not safely able to do so, we will be live streaming our 9:30am meeting each week and would love you to join us on our YouTube channel.

Below is some key information you will need to know. Please do take the time to read this information and familiarise yourself with the guidelines.

General Information

We are currently in a national lockdown, meaning that no one is allowed to mix indoors or outdoors in groups, other than with their own household or support bubble. Please ensure that you do not mix with those outside of your household whilst attending the church or whilst outside the building.

When you arrive at church please ensure you maintain social distancing of 2 metres from another household. If you can please arrive between 10 and 5 minutes before the service it will allow everyone to arrive safely and find their seats in good time before we begin the meeting. There is a one-way system in place in the building which is clearly marked out when you arrive.

Alcohol hand gel stations are located at the entrance and around the building, please do use the gel when you arrive and leave. The toilets will be open for those that require them, however as the services are short we encourage you to go before you leave home, which will make our cleaning team’s jobs a lot easier!

In line with government guidelines, masks will be required during the building. Unless you are exempt from wearing a mask please ensure you wear your mask at all times in the building. Don’t worry, we will have spare masks at hand should you forget yours!

Please do ensure that you adhere to social distancing when in the building (as tempting as it might be to hug someone you haven’t seen for months!)

Please also make sure you are following general government advice, this includes not attending if you have been in contact with anyone with Coronavirus, or if you are displaying any of the main symptoms (persistent cough, fever or shortness of breath. Government guidelines can be found here.

Children and Youth

Sadly we are not able to have any structured children’s or youth work at the moment, but each service will be aimed at all ages, with a shorter family friendly preach. We will also be providing activity packs each week. Please bring along your own toys and also pens or crayons to complete the packs provided. There will be some toys available incase and these will be cleaned down each week.

Don’t worry about the noise your children might make, it is part of the joy of being together again! However if you have any under 3s and would prefer to take them out for a time to settle, there is an unmanned creche upstairs during each meeting. Please ensure you socially distance from other families when using the room. An audio feed is available too so no need to miss the preach!

Breaking Bread

At the moment we will not be breaking bread together. Though we are legally permitted to partake in communion, we have made the decision that the act of mask removal to take communion is not wise during this season. We look forward to partake in bread and wine together when the case numbers fall within the area.

Offering

Please can we encourage people to continue to give by cashless options such as bank transfer. If you are not able to and do wish to give by cash or cheque then this can be done at the end of the service. An offering box will be placed at the exit to the building and you can pop your money or cheque into it on the way out.
