COVID-19 Guidance

Updated: 26th July 2021.

I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Psalm 122:1

As a church, we continue to adhere to government guidelines regarding places of worship and are working hard to ensure that we remain open in a way that is as safe as possible. We are still holding weekly church meetings each Sunday, at 10am and we also live stream each week on our YouTube channel, for those who aren’t yet ready to join us in person, or who have to self-isolate. Remember, if you are showing any of the main symptoms of COVID, or have been asked to self-isolate, please ensure you follow the relevant Government guidelines and do not enter the church building, but stay at home for the safety of others.

From 19th July, there is no legal requirement to book into our meetings for track and trace. QR codes remain on our doors so we would encourage you to check in when you arrive, but you do not need to book, you can simply turn up on the morning.

Meetings are shorter than usual and family friendly. We are not currently serving refreshments after our meetings and aren’t currently running our Sunday youth programme or our Generators children’s group (for school children). We are however pleased to offer children’s work for under 5’s which is manned each week by DBS checked staff and volunteers. We plan to serve refreshments and run Generators once more from September 2021.

In line with government guidelines, masks are no longer a legal requirement, but the decision of an individual if they wish to wear one or not. If you choose to wear a mask, and would feel more comfortable being sat around people who are also wearing a mask, please let the Welcome Team know and they will show you a designated ‘mask only’ area, to protect those more vulnerable in our congregation.

Otherwise, please feel free to sit anywhere in the building when you arrive, whether you choose to wear a mask or not. We ask that people check with those on their row that they are happy for you to sit next to them. If they aren’t, please do leave a 2 seat (1m) gap between households.

Children and Youth

Don’t worry about the noise your children might make, it is part of the joy of being together! We do have fantastic packs available each week for those children in our Generators group (Primary school children) and the back room (Polegate Room) is available each week with an audio feed for feeding Mums.

Over summer we will continue to offer a group for children under 5 which will run during the preach on Sunday mornings. Parents can drop their children off with our DBS checked helpers and collect them after the service has ended. There will be a chance for the children to play together and enjoy a story-time. Please do not bring your child if they are unwell or have tested positive for COVID 19.

Offering

Please can we encourage people to continue to give by cashless options such as bank transfer. If you are not able to and do wish to give by cash or cheque then this can be done at the end of the service. An offering box will be placed at the exit to the building and you can pop your money or cheque into it on the way out.
